SPACES FOR
ART
From the very beginning, it was essential for us to have a space for art.
A safe space for experimentation, far from agendas and imposed narratives. A tangible, permanent space with an identity of its own, not just an ephemeral pop-up or workshop, with doors open 24 hours a day for our artists to rehearse, read, direct, film, sing, dance, create, and experiment.
These spaces were not acquired through financial means; they were proposed to us by people who came, sat, and watched our performances, by people who believe in the necessity of permanent spaces for artists to claim. They are constantly maintained, shaped, cleaned, polished, and loved by the artists who are part of this movement.
តាំងពីដើមមកម្ល៉េះ វាសំខាន់ណាស់សម្រាប់ពួកយើងក្នុងការមានទីកន្លែងមួយសម្រាប់សិល្បៈ ជាកន្លែងដែលមានសុវត្ថិភាពក្នុងការសាកល្បង និងពិសោធរកអ្វីថ្មីៗ ដែលខុសគ្នាឆ្ងាយពីរបៀបវារៈ និងគំនិតដែលត្រូវបានបំផុសជាទូទៅ។ ជាទីកន្លែងមួយដែលជាក់លាក់ច្បាស់លាស់ជាមួយនឹងអត្តសញ្ញាណរបស់ខ្លួន ហើយមិនមែនគ្រាន់តែជាទីកន្លែងដែលដាក់បង្ហាញស្នាដៃ ឬធ្វើសិក្ខាសាលាតែមួយឆាវៗនោះទេ តែគឺជាទីកន្លែងដែលបើកទ្វារ ២៤ ម៉ោង សម្រាប់ឱ្យសិល្បករហាត់សម អាន ដឹកនាំ ថត ច្រៀង រាំ បង្កើត និងសាកល្បង។ ទីកន្លែងមួយនេះ មិនមែនយើងទទួលបានតាមរយៈមធ្យោបាយហិរញ្ញវត្ថុឡើយ តែយើងអាចមានទីកន្លែងនេះបានក៏ដោយសារអ្នកដែលបានមក អង្គុយ និងមើលស្នាដៃសិល្បៈរបស់យើង ព្រមទាំងអ្នកដែលជឿជាក់លើភាពចាំបាច់របស់ទីកន្លែងមួយដែលអាចឱ្យសិល្បករធ្វើជាម្ចាស់បាន។ ជាកន្លែងមួយដែលនៅតែបន្តទទួលបានការទ្រទ្រង់ សូនឱ្យចេញជារូបរាង សម្អាត ដុសខាត់ និងស្រឡាញ់ ពីសិល្បករគ្រប់រូបដែលជាចំណែកនៃកម្លាំងចលករមួយនេះ។

RIVERSIDE
The Last Stage Riverside is our original home, the place where it all began. Nestled on the second floor of a building in the heart of Phnom Penh, The Last Stage Riverside is a space dedicated to artistic experimentation and creation. It was here that the Acting Art Academy took its first steps, and its growth helped transform the space into The Last Stage’s first venue at a time when permanent theater spaces were sorely needed.
Renovations began in late 2024 and were completed in early 2025. The venue now accommodates up to 70 audience members and is equipped with a stage-lighting system installed with the generous support of Éric Soyer.
Today, The Last Stage Riverside remains both a performance venue and the home of the Acting Art Academy, where new generations of actors continue to train for cinema and contemporary theater.
The Last Stage Riverside គឺជាផ្ទះដំបូងរបស់ពួកយើង ជាចំណុចចាប់ផ្ដើមនៃកម្លាំងចលករគ្រប់យ៉ាង។ ជាសម្បុក និងជាទីជ្រកនៅជាន់ទីពីរក្នុងសំណង់អគារមួយកណ្ដាលទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ The Last Stage Riverside គឺជាទីកន្លែងមួយដែលត្រូវបានបង្កើតឡើងសម្រាប់ឱ្យសិល្បករមានឱកាសក្នុងការពិសោធ សាកល្បង និងបង្កើតសមិទ្ធផលច្នៃប្រតិដ្ឋ។ ទីនេះហើយដែលសាលាសិល្បៈសម្ដែង (The Acting Art Academy) បានបោះជំហានដំបូង ហើយបន្ទាប់មក ក៏បន្ដដំណើរទៅរកភាពលូតលាស់ ដើម្បីកែច្នៃទីកន្លែងដដែលនេះឱ្យក្លាយទៅជារោងមហោស្រពដំបូងរបស់ពួកយើងដែលមានឈ្មោះថា The Last Stage ស្របពេលដែលតម្រូវការនៃវត្តមានរបស់រោងមហោស្រពកំពុងមានភាពចាំបាច់។ ការកែកុនមួយនេះបានចាប់ផ្ដើមនាចុងឆ្នាំ ២០២៤ ហើយត្រូវបានបញ្ចប់នាដើមឆ្នាំ ២០២៥។ រោងមហោស្រពមួយនេះអាចផ្ទុកទស្សនិកជនបានរហូតដល់ ៧០ នាក់ និងត្រូវបានដំឡើងប្រព័ន្ធភ្លើងដោយសារតែទឹកចិត្តសប្បុរសរបស់លោក Éric Soyer។ មកដល់ថ្ងៃនេះ The Last Stage Riverside នៅតែជាដំបូលនៃរោងមហោស្រពសិល្បៈសម្ដែង ក៏ដូចជាសាលាសិល្បៈសម្ដែង ដែលតួសម្ដែងជំនាន់ថ្មីៗបន្តទទួលការហ្វឹកហាត់សម្រាប់ភាពយន្ដ និងទស្សនីយភាពបែបសហសម័យ។

FACTORY
In late 2024, while TLS Riverside was undergoing renovation, Factory Phnom Penh, a mixed-use creative hub, offered us a small space within its complex, allowing our artistic work to continue. The space played an essential role in launching the inaugural Golden (r)Age Performing Arts Festival, providing additional room for rehearsals and hosting a wide range of performances. Since then, it has served as our second theater venue in the capital.
Depending on the seating configuration, the venue can accommodate up to 100 audience members.
នាចុងឆ្នាំ ២០២៤ ស្របពេលដែល The Last Stage Riverside កំពុងស្ថិតនៅក្រោមការកែលម្អ Factory Phnom Penh ដែលជាមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលនៃភាពច្នៃប្រតិដ្ឋចម្រុះ បានផ្ដល់ទីកន្លែងតូចមួយឱ្យពួកយើងដើម្បីឱ្យពួកយើងបន្តការងារសិល្បៈ។ ទីតាំងថ្មីនេះបានដើរតួនាទីយ៉ាងសំខាន់ក្នុងការបើកទំព័រមហោស្រពសិល្បៈទស្សនីយភាព Golden (r)Age ហើយមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលក៏បានផ្ដល់ជាបន្ទប់បន្ថែមទៀតសម្រាប់ការហ្វឹកហាត់ និងរៀបចំការសម្ដែងច្រើនប្រភេទ។ ចាប់ពីពេលនោះមក ទីនេះក៏បានក្លាយជារោងមហោស្រពទីពីររបស់យើងក្នុងក្រុងភ្នំពេញ។ រោងមហោស្រពនេះអាចផ្ទុកទស្សនិកជនបានរហូតដល់ ១០០ នាក់ អាស្រ័យលើទំហំជាក់ស្ដែងនៃឆាកសម្ដែង។

Aquation theater
After standing empty for two years, the building that would eventually become The Last Stage Aquation Theatre was ready for a new purpose. As we continued fostering a growing movement of Khmer artists across the country, we saw an opportunity to create a fully equipped theater built to international standards, one capable of accommodating more than 200 audience members and equipped with professional lighting and sound systems, once more, installed with the generous support of Éric Soyer.
The venue was repurposed not only to host Khmer performances but also to welcome international troupes, companies, and directors, creating new opportunities for artistic exchange and cross-border collaboration.
The second edition of the Golden (r)Age Performing Arts Festival marked the theater’s inauguration, breathing new life into the space.
